Domestic Violence and Injunctions

If you are experiencing domestic violence or you are concerned for your safety, or the safety of your children, our Family department is equipped to take fast and effective legal action that can protect you. Whether you are experiencing threatening or abusive behaviour from an ex-partner, family member, or someone you live with, the law is there to help you.

Our family department is experienced at working with clients who are suffering, or who are at risk, of suffering domestic violence, in an understanding and compassionate way. We work with you to consider the urgent steps needed, whilst working professionally to obtain an outcome tailored to your needs.

We can quickly and effectively advise you if you urgently need protection. The courts have extensive powers to make orders to protect the safety of you and your children, and to give you security in your home by excluding a violent partner or ex-partner, or to stop them from returning.

In some cases you may be worried that the person you seek protection from will find out that you are getting legal advice; your safety and our confidentiality is key, and we work quickly to obtain protection for you, often in circumstances where the perpetrator is unaware.

Important things to consider

It is important that if you are in immediate danger, you should call the police for urgent assistance.

If you feel you need to leave the home for your own immediate protection it is important that you take any children with you, even if you do not believe they are at immediate risk themselves.

If you or your children have suffered any injuries as a result of domestic violence then we suggest you seek medical attention and notify your GP as soon as possible.
We know how quickly matters can arise, we can offer urgent appointments so that if necessary your case can go to court for emergency protection at once.

Our Testimonials

“Dear Karen,

Thank you very much indeed for all that you, William Brown, and your support team at Hodders have done in connection with this purchase, and with the associated sale of Wallers Haven Barn. There were many times when I thought that we were not going to make one or the other, and it is in very large part down to your persistence that we are exchanged. Your care, patience and attention to detail have been much appreciated.
