Sherine Silva

Sherine Silva
Sherine qualified in 1994, joining Hodders in 1998 as an assistant solicitor. She became a partner in 2000 and Managing Partner in May 2006.

Sherine is head of the firm's Company and Commercial Department. Sherine is the firm's Money Laundering Compliance Officer.

James Mark Tompkins

James Mark Tompkins
James joined Hodders in 1991 as an articled clerk and qualified in 1993. He became a partner in 1997. James heads the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. He specialises in the law relating to Landlord and Tenant and Housing.

James acts for numerous Registered Social Landlords as well as private landlord and tenants, both corporate and residential.

Karen Rieveley

Karen Rieveley
Karen joined Hodders in 1990 as an articled clerk and qualified in 1992. She later became a partner in 1994. In 2005 Karen moved to manage the firm's Battersea office. Karen is the firm's Financial Services Act Compliance Officer and is also responsible for trainee solicitors.

Karen specialises in property law dealing with both residential and commercial matters.

Christina Kwaw

Christina Kwaw
Christina qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and is a specialist Housing Lawyer as well as manager of the firm's Housing Litigation department. She is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents and in February 2005 she obtained a NAEA Technical Award in Residential Letting and Property Management.

Christina joined the partnership in May 2005.

Stephen Hill

Stephen John Hill
Stephen qualified in 1979, joining Hodders in the same year as an assistant solicitor. He became a partner in 1981 and then senior partner in 1986. In May 2006 Stephen became a Consultant to the firm. His specialisms include Licensing and Gaming Law and Commercial Property.

During his career Stephen has served on various committees including Duty Solicitor Schemes, Local Law Society and London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association.

Rosemary Anne Stokes

Rosemary Anne Stokes
Roz qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and became a partner in 1986. She has been a member of the Law Society Children's Panel since December 1985. Until 2004 she specialised in public law Family work. In addition she has lectured to other solicitors, members of the legal profession, social workers and Magistrates on the law relating to children.

In more recent years she has developed a specialist interest in the management of law firms. In March 2004 she was appointed the firm's Managing Partner and played a key role in the firm's practice management.

Retiring from the partnership in April 2006 she became a consultant on 1 May 2006. She now advises in practice management and has also returned to work part-time in the firm's private client department advising on Will drafting and in the administration of estates.

Mary Ann Edwards

Mary Ann Edwards
Mary Ann works exclusively in the area of law relating to children. The majority of her work is acting for children and parents in Public Law Proceedings and related work such as Adoption.
Mary Ann has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel since the late 1980s. Based in the firm’s High Wycombe office Mary Ann regularly represents clients in the Family Proceedings Court in High Wycombe and Aylesbury and the County Court in Milton Keynes.

Mary Ann also represents clients in London, Reading, Slough, Reading and Oxford Courts.

Robert Clothier

Robert Clothier
Bob qualified as a licensed conveyancer in 1987. He specialises in Residential Property work and also has experience in commercial property. He joined Hodders in 1996. In June 2003 he took a sabbatical and relocated to Wales.

After a well-earned rest he took up employment with a firm in Wales before returning to work with Hodders in October 2006. He heads the firm’s Residential Property Department at the Wembley office.

Gloria Maduka

Gloria Maduka
Gloria completed her B.A. joint honours degree at Keele University, graduating with a double 2:1 in Law & Politics. She went on to study at Lancaster Gate College of Law and then moved to Clifford Chance where she completed her articles; qualifying as a solicitor in October 1990.

Gloria has broad based experience in the areas of conveyancing, litigation, company & commercial, media, telecommunications and taxation.

Joining Hodders in September 2003 Gloria is an assistant solicitor in the Property and Private Client Departments advising clients on matters relating to property, Wills and estate planning.

Kenneth MacLeay

Kenneth MacLeay
Ken joined Hodders in 1996 as a senior executive in the Licensing Department. Prior to joining Hodders Ken's career was in the Magistrates Courts Service where he acquired extensive experience advising Justices on law, practice and procedure.

He became Principal Court Clerk at Ealing, responsible for the legal team at Acton, the Licensing Department as well as the day to day management of Acton Court House. He moved to Brent Magistrates Court where he was responsible for the Licensing, Betting and Gaming Committee.

Ken's focus at Hodders is as an advocate and trainer but he also assists solicitors in the department in relation to dealing with clients' licensing matters. An approved trainer by the BIIAB he lectures regularly; running Hodders Licensing Seminars and external approved courses. He also lectures for Central Law Training.

Vicky Preece

Vicky Preece
Vicky qualified as a solicitor in September 2002 and joined Hodders in 2005. Vicky is accredited to the Law Society's specialist Children Panel, and can therefore represent children in Court proceedings.

Since qualifying Vicky has worked as a family lawyer and currently specialises in children law matters, including disputes between parents and matters involving local authority intervention.

Vicky advises on education law matters including school admissions, exclusions, obtaining a statement of special educational needs and complaints. She also represents clients in domestic violence matters.

Vicky is also a committee member of the local Buckinghamshire and Berkshire region of Resolution (Solicitors Family Law Association).

In her spare time Vicky enjoys horse riding and competes in British Eventing competitions.

Ian Paul Mitchell

Ian Paul Mitchell
Ian read Business Finance and Law at Brunel University before undertaking the Legal Practice Course at the Guildford College of Law in 2001.

He qualified as a Solicitor in July 2004 and moved to Hodders litigation department in September 2004. He has experience in a wide range of civil litigation matters. His work areas include landlord and tenant matters, lease extension and enfranchisement procedure, debt recovery, employment, and contract and probate disputes.

Ian regularly acts for residential tenants wishing to acquire the freehold of the their flats, or who are looking to extend the term of their lease. Where a landlord is not readily co-operating he is able to assist clients take such matters to the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal for determination. Ian also assists landlords and tenants a like in consultation requirements in respect of substantial building works proposed to premises and on service charge disputes.

Ian has dealt with all manner of employment problems on behalf of employers and employees, including unfair dismissal, employment contracts and redundancy.

Dagmara Kulczykowska

Dagmara Kulczykowska
Dagmara joined Hodders in 2002 as a trainee solicitor having previously graduated from the College of Law in London with a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. Dagmara qualified as a Solicitor In 2004 and joined Hodders Private Client Department.

Dagmara’s work includes probate, trust, wills and residential property. She is also a fluent Polish speaker.

Mahesh Kakkar Mahesh Kakkar
Mahesh qualified as a solicitor in December 2005 and now specialises in Property transactions, of both residential and commercial matters. Having had a vast amount of experience in dealing with high volume remortgage and conveyancing work, Mahesh manages his own diverse caseload of property transactions.

Outside work Mahesh enjoys boxing, weightlifting, participating in an array of social and recreational activities including supporting his favourite football team.

Jennifer Absalom

Jennifer Absalom
Jenny started in the legal profession as a Legal Secretary in 1977. In 1987 she joined the London Borough of Brent, subsequently becoming a Legal Executive in the Housing Department, before joining Hodders as a Housing Executive in 2002.

Jenny works in the housing team where her caseload includes possession actions, squatters’ proceedings, warrants and general housing advice. Jenny is an experienced advocate in the County Court.

Sue Atkins

Sue Atkins
Sue joined Hodders in 1998, working as a PA. Her role quickly expanded to include personnel and training. In 2004 her role changed again when she moved to Sales and Lettings as the Office Manager.

A member of the National Association of Estate Agents, she now deals with the day to day running of the office as well as managing the Lettings side of the business.

Liam Keran

Liam Keran
Liam, Sales Manager, joined Hodders from Beavers Estate Agents which Hodders acquired in 2000. With twelve years experience in the industry, Liam’s knowledge of the housing market in and around Harlesden is extensive and he has played an essential part in maintaining Hodders’ high profile in the area.

Liam is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents.

Ben Lynch

Ben Lynch
Ben joined Hodders as a Sales Negotiator in 2003 having previously worked as a Negotiator for a Ruislip agent for four years. In 2005 Ben took the NAEA Residential Sales Technical Award and continues to be a member of the NAEA.

With nearly ten years’ experience Ben’s particular expertise is in pipe-line work, working closely with solicitors to bring sales to a successful conclusion.

Winnie de Vries

Winnie de Vries
Originally from South Africa, Winnie studied commerce and economics in Johannesburg, qualifying as an Estate Agent in Cape Town. She worked for a large international estate agency for ten years.

In 2003, she moved to the UK for family reasons and in 2005 joined Hodders Sales & Lettings as a Negotiator.

William Henry Mayston

William Henry Mayston
William is a dual qualified lawyer and commenced his legal career in 1998. He was admitted as an Attorney of the Cape High Court in early 2002 at which time he elected to relocate and apply his prior work experience within the United Kingdom. He was subsequently admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of England and Wales in early 2004 and joined Hodders in 2007.

William specialises in litigation dealing with contentious matters over a broad range of disciplines which includes civil and commercial as well as employment matters. He is also proficient in the preparation and negotiation of various commercial contracts.

In addition to English, William speaks French and Afrikaans fluently.

Sonia Robinson

Angela Arnold
Angela qualified in 2007, joining Hodders in the same year, as an assistant solicitor in the Residential Property Department.

Angela has handled work in a wide range of residential and commercial property matters, but now specialises in residential conveyancing especially in relation to shared ownership properties, Right to Buy, remortgages, lease extensions and transfer of equity matters.

In her spare time Angela plays the clarinet and bass guitar, enjoys listening to music (especially jazz) and reading autobiographies.

Angela Arnol

Sonia Robinson
Sonia started her legal profession with the Department of Social Security as a Fraud Officer, later as a Senior Housing and Rent Recovery Manager with the London Borough of Hackney, in their Legal Department.

She graduated with a LLB (Hons) in Law at Birkbeck College, University of London, followed by the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the BBP School of Law in Holborn, London. She also took a specialist Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Law at Kings College, University of London.

Following admission as a qualified solicitor, she joined Hodders Solicitors in June 2007 taking a position in their Commercial/Residential Department as a Property Solicitor, assisting the Managing Partner.

Sonia takes a keen interest in political and current affairs, reading Shakespearian, Elizabethan and post World War I literature, and enjoys period dramas.

She is also a qualified Royal Society of Arts, Fitness Instructor and enjoys following athletics, football and F1 Grand Prix motor racing.
